Janet Huntington is a contributor to Passion for Horses.
She has illustrated numerous children’s books, book covers and greeting cards before giving in to the lure of playing cowboy. She is the author of the blog The Mugwump Chronicles where she shares stories about the horses she has known and discussions about training and fair treatment for the horses she loves. Janet lives in Southern Colorado with her family, her dogs and her horses, Odin and Madonna.
" In my mind I am."

"Are you a real cowboy?"

"Who is your favorite family member?"

"Right. Go ahead, start another War of the Roses."
"There were so many. I was a day-dreamy kid, silent and fierce when confronted and stubborn when pushed. I brought out the worst in bullies."

"Who was your least favorite teacher? Why?"

"What was your favorite workplace?"

"The barn."
" Beets."

"What food do you detest?"

"Can you tell us about a project you are currently working on in one sentence?"

"First novel!"
"I eat with a spoon."

"If a fork were made of gold, would it still be considered silverware?"

"What is your least favorite book?"

"I never rat out a fellow author. I might hate the book, but somebody thought it worth publication."
"My imaginary animals."

"What do you miss most about being a kid?"

"Is it true cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?"

"I find clowns make a delightful Amuse Bouche."
"Cookies."

"What's your favorite dessert?"

"What was the first thing you bought with your own money?"

"My horse."
"I have two Quarter Horses. Their names are Odin and Madonna. Their favorite foods are garbage, anything that will cause colic, dandelion greens, seeds or bloom worms."

"You are a contributor to Passion for Horses. What kind of horses do you have now?"

"What question does your friends and/or family ask about your writing that annoys you the most?"

"Are you wasting time on the computer again?"
"Make sure you major in something that will get you a real job."

"What is the worst thing anyone has said about your writing?"

"Why did Yankee Doodle name the feather in his hat Macaroni?"

"Because, in the early 1700's, "macaroni" was an indie way to describe an English dandy. The trend was for these spoiled rich boys to affect French and Italian mannerisms which was about as offensive to the British as sagging is to today's grandparents. The Brits were able to doubly insult the Americans by inferring they were trying to emulate the British fops by sticking a feather in their hats.
"Life."

"Can you tell us about an experience that made you a stronger person?"

"What is the most useful tip another writer has ever given you?"

"Write every, single day, even if it's only one sentence."
