Mark Mills

A Cincinnati resident, Mark Mills taught composition and literature at Northern Kentucky University and the University of Cincinnati. 

He has published work in Necrotic Tissue, Tor.com, Brain Harvest, Short Story America, Pill Hill Press, RuneWright, Aurora Wolf Press, Bards and Sages Quarterly. He worked on and appeared in several local movies, including Evil Ambitions, Live Nude Shakespeare, Chickboxin’ Underground, Zombie Cult Massacre, No Second Chances, and April’s Fool. 

He currently is occupied with a large number of children, animals, and unpublished stories.

Ben Fine

Dr. Ben Fine was a mathematician and professor at Fairfield University in Connecticut in the United States.  He is a graduate of the MFA program at Fairfield University and is the author of ten books (eight in mathematics, one on chess, one a political thriller) as well over 130 research articles.
 He has completed a memoir told in interwoven stories called Tales from Brighton Beach: A Boy Grow in Brooklyn.  The stories detail his growing up in Brighton Beach, a seaside neighborhood on the southern tip of Brooklyn, during the 1950’s and 1960’s. 
​
Brighton Beach was unique and set apart from the rest of New York City both in character and in time.  Ben is a lover of animals and many of his tales involve his pets.

Judi Calhoun is the author of the YA novel Ancient Fire. Her short fiction stories have appeared in anthologies such as the popular Pulp Fiction, Love Free or Die in the Granite State, a horror anthology called Canopic Jars: Tales of Mummies and Mummification, Bugs, Tales that Slither, Creep and Crawl, Live Free or Ride in the Granite State and The Black Cat Anthology.

Judi enjoys writing literary fiction, Fantasy and Horror. She lives in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire with her husband and is currently working on a new YA novel, Dragon Girl.

As an Artist, Judi studied at Palomar College, in San Marcos, California, working with Children’s book illustrator, Michael Sternagle and learning portrait work under the tutelage of Hollywood portrait illustrator, Steven Miller.  Judi was the winner of the Artist Innovation Award for 2009 by Art Works, NH and twice commissioned to create a cancelation stamp for the US Postal service. Katie Winkler lives and works in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with her husband John, daughter Hannah and their rescued cat Stormy. She is also a frequent contributor to the Hendersonville Times News as a feature writer and theater reviewer.

 Lela Marie De La Garza has had work published in Behind Closed Doors, Pound of Flash, ChickLit,  Daily Romance, Creepy Gnome, Passion Beyond Words, Black Denim and Mad March Hare. She was born in Denver, CO. in 1943 while her father was serving in WWII. She currently resides in San Antonio, TX. with three and a half cats, some stray kittens, and a visiting raccoon.

Jack Hillman

Jack Hillman is a novelist, journalist, playwright and a medical underwriter. His fiction has been published in multiple magazines while his novel length work currently numbers three young adult fantasies. In addition, Jack has written and directed four mystery plays for local audiences in the Lehigh Valley.  On the non-fiction side, Jack has served as a stringer on local newspapers, winning a Keystone Press Award for his investigative reporting. He has also worked on a wire service covering the insurance industry as well as serving as a contributing editor to a life underwriting journal for eleven years.  He has worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years and has a wide medical background due to his position as a medical underwriter.  In addition, Jack is an avid martial artist and a collector of edged weapons.
