A.A. Garrison is a twenty-nine-year-old man living in the mountains of North Carolina. His short fiction has appeared in dozens of zines, anthologies, and web journals, as well as the Pseudopod webcast. His horror novel, The End of Jack Cruz, is available from Montag Press. He is our very own contributor to Passion for Weird Tales.

We caught up with A. A. Garrison this week to find out some more about this up and coming writer.

"I am a fan of fruits, in the vein of 'delicious and nutritious'."

"What's your favorite dessert?"

"What's one of your favorite habits you have?"

"I look both ways before setting foot in the street, no exceptions."
"My second-grade teacher stands out distinctly as my favorite. Why? Good question."

"Who was your favorite teacher? Why?"

"Who is your favorite family member?"

"I can't play favorites when it comes to family. That's asking to get nixed from someone's Christmas list."
"Light green, because it makes things that aren't money look like money."

"What color do you hate?"

"What was your least favorite workplace?"

"Doing outside labor during allergy season."
"Being three and drinking a soda, high on sugar."

"What is your first memory of being really excited?"

"When was the last time you were nervous?"

"Before beginning this interview. (I'm not good at interviews.)"
"Something far too long ago to remember. (Movies, TV, and books don't hit me that way.)"

"What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?"

"Is a picture worth a thousand words? Elaborate."

"It is, but the words rarely say anything, and what they do say isn't trustworthy."
''I think my answer should involve vampire bats, but I'm not sure."

"What happens if Batman gets bitten by a vampire?"

"Do pyromaniacs wear blazers?"

"Only when they aren't wearing sweaters."
"Cormac McCarthy, because he's about the only writer I've ever seen who comes close to describing the indescribable reality of actual experience."

"Who is your favorite author?"

"If you were a genie and a person asked you this wish: 'I wish you would not grant me this wish' what would you do?"

"Zap them into an Escher print."
"I am preparing the release of my second novel, The Storms of Pemberton, a paranormal horror piece."

"Can you tell us about a project you are currently working on in one sentence?"

"What is the most useful tip another writer has ever given you?"

"Use short sentences."
"I have never tried (yet)."

"Can you write standing on your head?"

"What is the worst thing anyone has said about your writing?"

"When they say, 'I don't get it'."
"I can't play favorites here, either. Characters are just as temperamental as anyone else."

"Who is your favorite character of all your stories?"

You can connect with A. A. Garrison on Facebook, Twitter, and his blog.
