Kellie Troy was born in Melbourne, Australia. She has had a great passion for horses ever since she can remember. Although she did not have her first horse until she turned thirteen, she took riding lessons for years and attended several horse riding camps. Her greatest passions are helping horses who have fallen on hard times, riding and daily horse care. As a teenager, she loved attending pony club and competing with her gelding. She worked part time at a riding school until she finished high school. After high school, she took a two year, full time Horse Management course. This led to a job in the horse industry. She has worked with breeding thoroughbreds for racing, helped to train standardbreds for the track and worked with show horses and ponies. She loves working with babies, teaching them to trust people.

She hopes you've enjoyed her story. She loved sharing Joe and Tricky's journey with everyone. As of the publication of this book, they are still living a happy, pampered retirement. You can connect with Kellie on Facebook.

Pictureauthor Janet Huntington
Janet Huntington was born in Racine, Wisconsin but grew up in Colorado and survived a Catholic high school education at Benet Hill Academy School for Girls.

After studying graphic design at Colorado State University, Janet waded into life with two horses, a job as a waiter and the hopes of becoming an illustrator and horse trainer. She illustrated numerous children’s books, book covers and greeting cards before giving in to the lure of playing cowboy. She began training horses full time and spent the next 15 years studying the art of the reined cow horse, culminating in a top ten finish at the National Reined Cow Horse association Celebration of Champions.

Janet became a reporter and columnist with the El Paso County and Fountain Valley News after retiring as a trainer and began writing a blog, The Mugwump Chronicles, where she shares stories about the horses she has known and discussions about training and fair treatment for the horses she loves. The Mugwump Chronicles averages 40,000 page views a month, is read worldwide and continues to grow at a steady pace. She has been a consistent winner of the Humorous Column Award for the Colorado Press Association.

Janet lives in Southern Colorado with her family, her dogs and her horses, Odin and Madonna.
